Map

The ND2016 Conference will take place in the beautiful decor of Bruges (Dutch: Brugge). Bruges is an attractive unique pedestrian medieval town listed as a UNESCO World Heritage. It is also called "The Venice of the North" and is the capital and largest city of the province of West Flanders in the Flemish Region of Belgium in the northwest part of the country (approximately 100 kilometres/62 miles from Brussels). The city's total population is more than 117,000, of which around 20,000 live in the historic centre.

Bruges is filled with Gothic, Romanesque and Renaissance façades; plenty of art, culture and history; and some fine Belgian cuisine. Walking along the maze of winding cobbled alleys and romantic canals, you imagine yourself to be in medieval times. The wealth of museums is a striking image of this city's stirring history. The restaurants in Bruges offer gastronomic cuisine and the excellent hotels are a true feast for those who enjoy the good things in life. And of course a visit to Bruges wouldn’t be complete without a canal or carriage ride, sampling the chocolates, waffles, moules et frites (mussels and French fries), shopping for craft work including Bruges famous lace, visiting museums and art galleries, climbing the 13th century belfry or trying several of the more than 350 Belgian beers.

We will use 2 of the most beautiful buildings of the Historic center of Bruges.

  1. Het Concert Gebouw Brugge (Monday 12 September 2016)
    address: het Zand 34
